About Us

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE WAUKESHA WEST BOOSTER CLUB

The purpose of the Booster Club is to provide a fundraising group of individuals to assist coaches, the athletic director, and the student athletes at Waukesha West High School. The Booster Club is proud to be an ALL sports booster club and is comprised of parents from a wide range of sports including football, basketball, track, volleyball, softball, baseball, cheerleading, etc…

Our by-laws state that an annual meeting be held between February and May of each calendar year. This meeting as well as all monthly meetings are open to the public and input is always welcome. These meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month and are held in the teachers lounge at Waukesha West High School. Approximately 16 individuals make up our Board of Directors.

This year the Booster Club has grown its membership base by close to 10% over the previous year and now has close to 250 member families. Allocations for individual sports last year (2008-2009) totaled nearly $33,000. Since the booster club was organized in 1995, approximately $310,000 has been raised by the club and distributed to the various sports programs. Close to $60,000 of this went into building and equipping the strength and conditioning facility at West in 2002-2003.

Additionally, the Booster Club gives four $1,000 scholarships annually to senior athletes chosen by the guidance office. In 2010 those awards will be presented in May.

We continue to recognize our athletes with Conference and State Championship banners which are updated as needed and proudly displayed in the field house. In addition, all senior athletes receive a plaque for their athletic participation from the booster club at their respective banquets.

Booster Club is able to donate these items through our membership drive as well as revenue earned from our concession and merchandise sales. Our annual golf outing held in September continues to grow and support our efforts as well.

We thank all of you for your support, both financial as well as the countless volunteer hours donated. With the anticipated budget cuts which will affect our sports programs in the future, the Booster Club will be looked upon to continue to grow its revenue sources in order to fund anticipated greater allocation requests.

The Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization as determined by the IRS. Contributions to the Waukesha West Booster Club are tax deductible.
